platform is the PC Charge Pro. The credit card software

permissions. The credit card software can cover multiple
payment types like credit cards, debit cards, EBT and

requirements are not that high. The minimum 600MHz
processor and 256MB RAM requirements are very much

ICVerify also supports Level II and Level III Visa and

to XP Home and Professional operating software. Hardware
requirements are pretty low. It works with IBM-compatible
PC and at least Pentium 200 processors. Likewise, RAM and
space requirements are 64MB and 40 to 60MB
respectively.
CAM Commerce Solutions’ X-Charge
credit card software is another application that boasts
of fast and secure payment processing. X-Charge software
can be used either as a stand alone card terminal or can
be integrated with existing POS (Point of Sale)
applications. The application features keyboard card
swipe, external file processing and auto comm restart. It
accepts sale, credit, return, void, check services and
gift card transactions and is able to provide detailed
transaction reports as well as card type and settlement
summary reports. It works on Windows XP, Windows 2000,
Windows Vista Business and Vista Ultimate.
For credit card software for
both Mac and PC, there’s the JPOS system. A Java based
platform, JPOS will work on any Windows PC, laptop, or
Apple Mac system with an Internet connection. The
software meets up to date PCI compliance standard for
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. It
features additional security with the CVV2 fraud
protection and an encrypted database. JPOS also supports
single or multi-users, card readers and has a
customizable search and reporting features. System
requirements are pretty standard. It is supported by all
the versions of MAC operating system and for Windows the
application supports Windows NT, Windows 2000, XP (all
versions) and Vista. Hardware requirements should be at
least a 166 MHz processor with an Internet
connection.
TakeCharge is another
multi-platform credit card software which offers easy and
straight forward transactions. Among its main features
include handling practically all kinds of transactions
from simple credit cards to recurring billing charges,
file import and user permissions, comes two user licenses
and unlimited merchant numbers and customizable user
interface. It runs on both Windows and Mac. Real time or
offline processing is possible and with user level
password protection, the software provides controlled
permissions at all levels. For PC it is supported by
Windows 98, NT, 2000 or XP. No support yet for Vista. For
Mac its OS X v10.0 or later.
